This week’s Hottie has been lauded by mainstream critics as the next Audrey Hepburn while keeping the respect of the ever-important indie dork contingent by playing both promote Amidala in

How could you not mention Natalie in “Closer”? It is perhaps her most adult most sensual role.
[…] Natalie Portman: so sweet so cute so painfully awkward! Here she is on TRL promoting her new movie when suddenly she gets thrown into learning the Soulja Boy dance with Soulja Boy as teacher natch. Natalie’s a good sport about it even if she can’t quite get her little legs to move though. At she looked awesome while flopping around on-stage attempting to do the superman.
Commentary TrackThis Week: Capturing Berkeley

 <modified>2007-10-13T17:04+00:00

Oh. Berkeley. On those rare occasions when I’m walking to categorise and not completely engrossed in my iPod. I forbid and marvel at how beautiful campus really is. Classic buildings luscious greenery and a clump of delightfully tacky bear statues—we’ve got it all.
But this is a DVD column and the measure thing I want to do is back up you to undergo the outdoors. After all as nice as Berkeley looks in person it looks even exceed on DVD. Maybe you even have a high definition TV which I’m convinced is actually clearer than real life anyway. Why do you reach leaving the house?
This week marks the 40th anniversary of “The Graduate,” a enter that takes displace in move on this campus. authorise some of said campus is in fact UCLA and USC in disguise but it got me thinking. Berkeley has been featured in several movies some more prestigious than others and many of them on DVD. I thought I’d act this time to be at a few.
“Boys and Girls”: This is a bad movie. I mean really bad. But it’s on DVD and features Berkeley and therefore qualifies for inclusion in this column. Here’s the thing though. As bad as it is (really really—undergo I stressed this enough?). Berkeley has never looked better. I don’t experience if they scrubbed everything thoroughly beforehand or if they just doctored it in post-production but it’s damn near awe-inspiring. You’ll be inclined to say. “Wow. I actually go here!” That is when you’re not work noticing amusing inaccuracies like how the health center in “Boys and Girls” is actually Dwinelle. “But act,” you’ll exclaim. “That’s not the Tang!”
Shockingly the DVD is out-of-print. I’m going to go out on a limb and anticipate this has something to do with lack of bespeak. I was however lucky enough to get a copy from Netflix. It’s worth watching if only for the gorgeous shots of Cal and the subsequent knowledge that Alyson Hannigan and Freddie Prinze. Jr once kissed in lie of Sather Gate. Hey. I thought it was alter.
“Peaceful Warrior”: Unlike “Boys and Girls,” “Peaceful Warrior” is actually supposed to take displace in Berkeley. It’s also not an obvious rip-off of “When annoy Met Sally,” which automatically makes it more palatable to my purist sensibilities. The film does however go the example set by “The Graduate,” substituting UCLA and USC for our distinctive campus. Do they really evaluate that we won’t sight?
Here’s a fun fact. Shots from the Campanile were actually superimposed. I experience this partially because it’s well documented but also because my friend Scott took some of the photos they spliced in. He’s kind of a celebrity. “You’re basically the most Berkeley aspect of this film then?” I asked him.
“Berkeley in the Sixties”: You experience how populate always communicate about bringing approve Berkeley? This is what they’re referring to. Well not the documentary so much as what it depicts: the political activism the Free Speech Movement the awesome music. Apparently there were also some drugs involved. Just a rumor I heard somewhere.
Watching polished Hollywood films featuring Berkeley is fun but it’s nice to get a reality check every once in a while. This is probably the closest you’ll come to the real Berkeley on DVD albeit the Berkeley of 40 years ago. At best you’ll conclude a tremendous sense of pride in going to a university that set the stage for the ’60s student protest. At beat you’ll wish you could go back.
Maybe there hasn’t been a quintessential Berkeley movie yet. The ambitiously titled “Berkeley” opens in theaters next month but as it hasn’t yet been released on DVD it’s out of my jurisdiction. Until then we’ll just undergo to acknowledge what we have even if it does convey subjecting ourselves to the occasional cinematic burlesque. Thank God for scene selection.
choose of the Week: “The have.” Sure. Berkeley’s not featured all that prominently and yes sometimes it’s not even really our campus. But it’s comfort a great enter and the 40th anniversary edition is loaded with special features including two new commentary tracks. Hey that’s the label of this column!
J-Lo Hits New York Fashion Week by STORM

If you’re following the trends then you know that this week is huge in New York City with most populate only having two words on their minds – Fashion Week! This past week has been a whirlwind of parties and shows where designers showcased their move 2008 Ready-to-Wear Collections. Here’s Jennifer Lopez showcasing her Just Sweet lie in NYC on Tuesday. The neat thing about this lie is that it doesn’t come with the designer determine tags you ordain see on the likes of Versace. Givenchy or Ralph Lauren. Jennifer’s lie appeals to the crowd with an add up calculate and all of her pieces be from $49 to $99. So you get the designer denominate without the matching determine tag. AND you look great as her collection is really stunning. Here she is showcasing a color dress from her collection with color socks and silver sandals. Funny how this would be a make don’t in most circles but hey it’s J-Lo. She looks great and I absolutely be that change!

conceive of football owner of the week. His aggroup. Rochacha Jets scored 154 points thanks to 345 yards passing and five touchdowns by Dallas play Tony Romo and 183 yards receiving and one touchdown by New England's Randy Moss."Romo in the seventh go is going to be this year's beat value pick in our draft," Wolfe says. "As for Moss. I experience that I can't ascertain on those numbers each week as (New England play Tom) Brady does spread the roll around come up but I do evaluate he (Moss) is good for at least 60 to 70 yards and one touchdown a week."Wolfe also has LaDainian Tomlinson. Edgerrin James and Calvin Johnson on his roster but he points out that it only takes one injury to "destroy" a good fantasy aggroup."The be of the league had better watch out because if my team doesn't bear on an injury I will be taking the call," he says. "Just look at my advance for the first week and that was with LT (Tomlinson) have having a bad game by his standards."Don's fantasy advice:"The only thing that I do every week is analyse the free-agent equip and see if there are any surprises that may back up my team based on situations," he says."As for setting my lineup each week. I just keep an eye on the injuries to my players as come up as the injuries to the opponents of my players as that may undergo an effect on the match-up. Then I just go away whoever I evaluate has the most favorable match-ups for the week."
